One day I'll post something here that isn't 90s Music Monday but until then I've just come back from a stunning weekend in Barcelona. Suffice to say - if or when you get married then can I highly recommend a guerrilla wedding in La Sagrada Familia.
The weather in BCN was exactly right and as I sit on my windowsill looking south over London and drink tea and watch the rain turn into a sun dappled evening this feels like the right video to post
Watching it makes me wonder if they're still together. Or is that too cynical?
Not strictly Monday but I only got back from Le Mans at about 11pm last night. Anyway, car related shennanigans.
Fun fact - in the thumbnail above you can probably just make out the black smear on the car seat from where her temporary tattoo is coming off due to the heat.
Fun fact the second - the people in the van are the other members of the band.
For various reasons today's 90mm almost passed me by.
I first heard this song holed up in a hotel in a freezing February in Mississauga (or the town west of the Airport in Toronto) with nothing but 6ft of snow, a Firkin pub and a book on Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman to keep me company so it kind of has special resonance for me.
Apparently I ended up writing this about the experience. I say apparently because I have no recollection of doing so. I am that bad with jetlag.
More angry mid 90s British music. If you've been following these little 9MM posts then you may have noticed that much of British Youth seemed to be very angry circa 1994. Go search for the Criminal Justic Bill/Act.
Kind of like Rage Against the Machine. But with cups of Tea.
As always with mid 90s stuff it's worth remembering it was the golden age of British Festivals (if you were into indie stuff anyway) with Glasto, Reading and Phoenix (joined by The V Festival in 96) all enjoying killer line ups and scorching weather and the main stream TV stations were broadcasting a lot of footage and so there's a goodly amount of storming live videos on YouTube.
