Yeah, I'd been very frustrated by the tone of the comments after Bywater stepped in. I've had to start deleting anonymous fuckwad comments en masse after Slashdot linked to it this morning, and posted a public notice stating as much. I apologized to Bywater privately, too. I mean, if you have to insult someone, at least have the guts to use your real name.

Sadly, at this point, the screaming fucktards from the Queen's own 1st Royal Batallion of Internet Dicks arrive on the scene like a thousand drooling, poop-flinging monkeys - ululating and howling and generally lowering the IQ of the place by a cold 50 points.

That sentence deserves some sort of prize.

Thanks for taking the time to hunt me down and comment.

I hope you manage to get more stories out of the archive and sorry if the initial release, which deserved all the excitement and positive attention it got, was slightly overshadowed by points of procedure and meta wibblings.
Believe me, if I'd known that the entire world (including virtually the entire staff of Infocom) was going to show up knocking on my weblog's door, I would've taken the extra week to contact the people I quoted. Fortunately, all the Infocom folks have been very forgiving.

I also got in touch with Bywater, explained my side, and he's a completely reasonable guy. He even started commenting again, writing some very entertaining original IF-style humor in the comments. Awesome.

Happy endings like this make me think that this World Wide Web thing might take off after all :)
