90s Music Monday

Continuing the trend of vaguely meaningful 90mm posts, and as a special request from Amy who, by mere dint of being from Stourbridge has the very essence of quintessential 90s music coursing through her veins, I'm giving you the chance to point and squeal and exclaim "OMFGWTFBBQ! Don't they look young!?1111"

It's weird. When I'm watching  various San Francisco set films - the sorely underrated So I Married An Axe Murderer is a fine example - I'm thrilled when I recognise bits of the city.

I'd like to say I recognise stuff from that Green Day video. But I'd be lying. And momma di'nt raise no liar. Fool.

In order to reclaim some credibilty I'd like to point out that I owned 1039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk  even before Dookie came out, largely because someone once played me the wistful and touching lovesong "I want to be your dominated love slave". Although in typical teen snobbishness then spurned them when Insomniac came out because, damn, it's no fun if everyone else likes them (see also: The Foo Fighters, Weezer, Soundgarden).

In my mind this song cuts off a second or two before the end in the middle of an "Arou ..." because, whilst attempting to court a young lady during my youth, I made a mix tape which I liked so much that I kept it. No, I don't know why I didn't just make a copy - congenital brain damage is my best guess. Anyway, this was the last song on the tape and it was a smidgen too long. It's funny how these things stick with you.
